National Coming Out Day Out List Display
October 10 - 15, Display Case in the Lobby of the Campus Center, Bend
October 11, National Coming Out Day, is the internationally observed day to celebrate
and to raise awareness of the LGBTQ community and the LGBTQ civil rights movement.
In celebration, check out the Out List Display which highlights the voices of Americans
from all walks of life who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. This
diverse group of LGBTQ personalities (activists, actors, politicians, drag queens,
athletes, campus members, etc.) share their personal experiences of gender and sexuality
and their determined struggle for full equality. Sign the Ally Pledge at: cocc.edu/allypledge
No Access Dakota Pipeline Movement

The year 2014. Humans live along with machines. Alex, a renowned cybernetic engineer,
returns to Santa Irene to carry out a very specific mission for the Robotic Faculty:
the creation of a child robot. During his ten-year absence, life has moved on for
his brother David and Lana, who got her life back together after his departure. Alex's
routine is altered in an unexpected way by Eva, Lana and David's amazing daughter.
She is a very special, charismatic little girl. She and Alex have a special connection
from the moment they meet. They set out on a journey together, which will bring them
to a revelatory end. Snacks will be provided.

Instrumental Latin Jazz performed by Miguel De Alonso and friends. Purchase or bring
your lunch and enjoy the musical performance as you escape to faraway lands! Miguel
plays original music with influences from many different countries.
Film and Discussion: Foreigners in Their Own Land, Part 1
Friday, October 21, Noon 1 pm, 155 Boyle Education Center
The first episode of this series explores the period from 1565-1880 as the first Spanish
explorers enter North America. The U.S. expands into territories in the Southwest
that had been home to Native Americans and English and Spanish colonies and the Mexican-American
War strips Mexico of half its territories by 1848. A facilitated discussion led by
Dr. Tom Barry will follow the film.
Latin@s In Oregon
Thursday, October 27, Noon 1 pm, 116 Coats Campus Center, Bend
Oregon State University and the Oregon Community Foundation have released the Latinos
in Oregon Report. Come learn about their findings, ask questions and engage in a
facilitated discussion. What do these numbers mean for the state? What do these numbers
mean for Central Oregon? How can we can utilize this data? See full latinos in oregon report.
