Specific Issue: Captive Portal does not automatically present itself.

If you run into a device that doesn’t automatically bring the portal up, follow these steps in order to diagnose and fix:

  1. Disconnect and reconnect to the network, and wait to see if there is a notification prompting you to sign in.
  2. Ensure that any and all VPN Clients are turn off and try again.
  3. Forget the network and then try connecting again.
  4. Restart the device and then try again.
  5. Search for any full URL in a web browser. I recommend URL’s that are easy to type or remember. My favorite is example.com.
  6. Check the devices network settings to make sure the IP address and DNS servers are being learned dynamically through DHCP.
