Volunteer Programs

Volunteers are an important and valued part of Deer Ridge. We are fortunate to have these dedicated community members who work with us:

Bryn Hazell & Evelyn Doherty - Center For Compassionate Living

Bryn facilitates a Non-Violent Communications 8 week course where students learn to improve their compassionate communication skills, deepen their self-understanding, and enrich their relationships.This class currently has 22 students enrolled, is an ongoing workshop, and includes practice sessions where the students have opportunity to practice what they have learned. So far, 110 inmates have been trained, including education tutors.

Deer Ridge has hosted volunteers who have taught Financial and Investment classes. Presently, several new math volunteers are helping with special events. Please call if you would like to volunteer.
