Veterans Work Study
You can “earn while you learn” at COCC, through the Veterans Work Study program. The
Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Work Study program provides a non-taxable allowance
to students in return for performing veteran-related services.
If you are a ¾ to full-time student, who is interested in a part-time job that supports

Veterans Benefits Office Assistant
Position Description: To assist the Student Certifying Officials in general office duties, specific to serving veteran students.

Veterans Peer Advisor & Program Assistant
Position Description: This position has two primary roles. The majority of the position
will be spent as a Peer Advisor, supporting new student veterans as they transition
to college life. COCC’s Peer Advisors will be provided training through the PAVE Program.
A portion of the job will be in the role of a Program Assistant which supports various
aspects of the Veterans Program, including student outreach and staffing of the Veterans
Center located on the Bend campus.

HOW TO APPLY
- Complete COCC’s Veterans Work Study Application and submit it to vetsed@cocc.edu.
- Fill out the application for Veterans Work Study Allowance by completing VA Form 22-8691.
- Email a copy of the completed form to vetsed@cocc.edu, or submit a hard copy to COCC’s Certifying Official.
- Check your COCC email for an update from Veterans Services staff on your application status.
