MAC-Addresses

What is a MAC Address?

A MAC Address is a 12 character address containing the letters a-f and number 0-9. It is sometimes referred to as a physical address, and every device that connects to the internet has at least one. Devices that can connect both wired and wirelessly will have at least a wireless MAC Address and a wired MAC Address.

Why do I need my Devices MAC Address?

When authenticating, the way a device is registered and remembered on the network for 10 months is through account-to-MAC-Address mapping. Using the self service portal, users on the network can easily register multiple devices at one time if they have the MAC Addresses.
